We Are Called

to use medicine to express the love of Jesus

Who We Are

Dr. Williams has been involved in full-time medical missions since 1984.  In 1997 he founded  International HealthCare Network, which facilitates and networks faith-based organizations in humanitarian outreaches and ministry.

Preparing to serve

Paul R. Williams received his M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri. He did his internship and pediatric residency at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. His fellowship in neonatalperinatal medicine was at Harbor General Hospital, UCLA, Torrance, California. Dr. Williams is board certified in pediatrics and neonatology. After his fellowship, he returned to William Beaumont Hospital as an associate neonatologist and later became the Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Director of Neonatal Research. For fifteen years, Dr. Williams was on the faculty of the University of South Florida as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics. He has published a number of scientific articles during his academic career.

Going into the world

Dr. Williams has organized and led medical teams in a number of major world disasters since the early 1990s. From cyclones devastating Bangladesh, to the refugee camps created by the Rwandan Civil War, to hurricane-ravaged Nicaragua, Honduras and the Bahamas, to tsunami devastation in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, and earthquakes in Haiti and around the world. He has brought the healing gifts of a physician, his Spirit-led leadership, and a Christ-like love for those who are suffering into the middle of some of the greatest disasters this world has known.

Working together

Dr. Williams serves on the board and/or is a consultant to several international mission agencies. He has been in over 106 nations and has been involved with more than 200 medical mission outreaches. Hundreds of thousands have been touched by the love of Jesus Christ throughout the course of his medical mission career.

The Calling

The Mandate

IHN equips compassionate ministries, churches, and families to meet the challenges of these turbulent times.

“Unprecedented” and “record breaking” describe the intensity and frequency of natural and man-made disasters. Earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, flooding, drought, tornadoes, severe snowstorms, wild fires, civil unrest, acts of terror and wars cause devastation around the world. Global economic chaos is impoverishing millions.

IHN responds to these crises motivated by the love of Jesus. IHN helps provide food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for the destitute, medicines for the sick and counseling for those traumatized by disasters.

IHN works strategically. IHN networks people and resources. This includes medicines, emergency supplies, food, clothing, transportation, warehousing, equipment, communications and finances. My professional training as a physician and mission experience in 106 nations over the past thirty years has uniquely prepared me for this role. Networking is a core mission of IHN.

IHN educates and trains healthcare professionals who are considering devoting their lives to medical missions. Preparation for and response to disasters is taught through training seminars. The book When All Plans Fail and related articles have become significant means to get the message out.

The vision of IHN is to share the love of Jesus through compassionate ministry. Networking, resourcing, consulting, educating, training and writing are all part of the equipping mandate of IHN.

I invite those who share the vision and mission of IHN to partner with us.
